MPC Container Ships publishes strong Q2 and H1 2023 results and raises financial guidance for 2023

Hamburg, 30 August 2023 - MPC Container Ships (MPCC) today released its impressive second quarter 2023 and first half 2023 results. Second quarter highlights include strong operating revenues of USD 194.4 million, EBITDA of USD 142.7 million and quarterly profit of USD 101.5 million. Despite the gradual decline in the container market, MPCC successfully continues its growth trajectory and increases its financial guidance for FY2023 to operating revenues of USD 675-690 million and EBITDA of USD 490-510 million.

Commenting on the results and the company's strategic direction, MPCC CEO Constantin Baack emphasised: "Our consistently positive performance despite a gradual downturn in the container market is a testament to our robust order book, successful chartering activity and continued strong operational performance. It also underlines the effectiveness of our ongoing prudent capital allocation strategy."

MPCC continues its fleet optimisation efforts, has secured funding for key projects and plans to enhance shareholder value while maintaining a strong liquidity position and low leverage. MPCC's results and strategic direction reflect the company's continued commitment to protect and advance the long-term interests of its shareholders.

Second quarter highlights include strong operating income of $194.4 million, EBITDA of $142.7 million and quarterly profit of $101.5 million.
