MPC Capital AG is an international real asset and investment manager in the sectors of Maritime and Energy Infrastructure, founded in 1994 by Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. Since 2000, the company has been publicly traded and has successfully identified investments in attractive markets and established strong networks with international partners in selected market segments over the past approximately 30 years. As a responsible and publicly traded company, MPC Capital AG actively contributes to the financing of global climate goals.
After the financial crisis of 2008, MPC Capital was restructured with extensive support from Münchmeyer Petersen Co. to meet the requirements of international institutional and semi-professional investors. In the challenging period after the financial and shipping crisis, Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. successfully initiated the formation of a young, dynamic management team, which enabled a successful restart of the company.
Since its founding, MPC Capital has realized more than 300 investment projects with a total volume of over 20 billion euros. The company's success is also due to its participation in co-investments and the early assumption of calculated project development risks.
Despite significant challenges during and after the financial crisis, MPC Capital AG has made a substantial positive contribution to value over the years.
In December 2024, MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. GmbH considered the timing ideal for selling its shares to an investor from the maritime sector, due to the high maturity of the market for container ships and the necessary high investment readiness in a challenging economic environment.
